Call for Contributions: Digital Cultural Heritage in Education

How are digital heritage tools shaping civic engagement, inclusion, and education in Europe?

Together with ENCATC, we have launched a collaborative research initiative to explore how digital cultural heritage resources and tools, including emerging applications like AI, are being used in education — from primary and secondary schools to higher education institutions.

Why this research matters

As cultural content and digital learning environments continue to evolve, there’s a growing need to understand how these tools influence:

  • Students’ understanding of democracy and civic responsibility
  • Cultural awareness and social inclusion
  • Diversity and sustainability in learning environments

By mapping current practices and initiatives, this research aims to offer a clearer picture of how digital cultural heritage contributes to inclusive and democratic education across Europe and beyond.

We’re calling for your expertise

To support this work, we are inviting contributions from professionals, researchers, educators, and cultural institutions. We are particularly looking for:

✔️ Examples of good practices and initiatives
✔️ Bibliographic references and relevant literature
✔️ Case studies or research projects

Your input will help shape a publicly accessible resource and inform our final publication. Contributors who consent will be acknowledged for their contributions.
