Description:
CrowdHeritage is a European pilot project that will result in the final development of a
participatory platform around digitized heritage.
Aims:
The lack of granular and rich descriptive metadata highly affects the searchability and usability of the digital content stored in museums, libraries and archives. In this context, crowdsourcing can offer a great opportunity for improving the metadata quality of digital cultural content in a scalable way, while at the same time engaging different user communities (professionals, students, passionate…) and raising awareness about cultural heritage assets.
Activities:
Development of an open platform on which a very large public audience can participate to 6 different crowdsourcing campaigns on Music, Fashion, Sport, Cities, Landscapes.
Through these collections, users can either suggest new annotations or descriptions about the item, either validate or not the existing ones in a user-friendly and attractive way.
