Ready, Steady, Transform! – Key takeaways from the forum
Do you remember our event Ready, Steady, Transform!, which took place on 20–21 November in Paris?
We’re excited to look back on it through a new accessible document summarising key insights, sources, and links shared by our speakers and participants during the event.
This first MCA Forum aimed to create a space for exchange, shared learning, and the development of new initiatives. Participants were invited to critically reassess digital cultural practices and share experiences, tools, and visions across key thematic areas: sustainability, inclusion, preservation, digital innovation, and policies.
Centred on two guiding questions — how digital cultural heritage can act as a catalyst for more sustainable and inclusive societies, and how effective cross-sector collaboration can be built — the Forum brought together 25 speakers, including experts from both the cultural and technical sectors.
A total of 187 participants joined in Paris and online, engaging in discussions across plenary sessions, workshops, and interactive dialogues. Taking place in a context of growing social, political, environmental, and technological polarisation — combined with increasing uncertainty and budgetary pressure on the cultural and digital cultural heritage sectors — the Forum also highlighted the many inspiring agents of change emerging across Europe.
We believe it is important to keep ideas circulating on these topics and considers it valuable to share information and tips among experts in the cultural sector — and beyond.

Ready, Steady, Transform! – Digital, cultural and creative collaboration for a sustainable and inclusive future was the first forum dedicated to MCA and part of a wider series of events organised within the European project TRANSFORM.
We are already looking forward to the next edition and to meeting you again!
