ANCHISE features the European Commission’s factsheet on illicit trafficking in cultural goods

We are glad to share that our ANCHISE project has been mentioned in the last factsheet Innovations for combating trafficking in cultural goods published by the European Commission. This document puts forward the challenges related to fighting against the trafficking in cultural goods and consequences in that respect.

Why is the fight against the illicit trafficking in cultural goods a critical issue? 

 

The fight against trafficking in cultural goods constitutes an important challenge because each theft, looting or destruction is an irreversible loss to History, Identity and historical memory. Moreover, cultural trafficking includes many problems legally reprehensible such as sanction evasion, tax evasion or terrorism financing.
