Two Memorandum of Understanding signed with CARARE and Balkan Museums Network

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from the MCA team: we’ve recently signed two new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with outstanding cultural heritage organisations: CARARE and the Balkan Museum Network (BMN). These partnerships mark a powerful step forward in our mission to support the digital transformation of cultural institutions across Europe and beyond.

Strengthening Long-Standing Ties with CARARE

Our collaboration with CARARE, the European network dedicated to archaeological and architectural heritage, has grown over the years into a strong and trusted relationship. Now, we’re taking it to the next level with a formal agreement to establish a permanent cooperation framework.

Through this MoU, MCA and CARARE will focus on:

  • Sharing expertise in education, research, and technology

  • Supporting professional development and capacity building

  • Exchanging information and promoting events across both networks

  • Collaborating on training initiatives that empower digital heritage professionals

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability in the digital cultural heritage landscape.

A New Chapter with the Balkan Museum Network

We’re equally excited to announce our brand-new partnership with the Balkan Museum Network (BMN). This collaboration opens doors to impactful initiatives that will foster digital capacity-building, knowledge exchange, and regional cooperation in the Balkans and beyond.

Together, MCA and BMN will:

  • Support museum professionals through shared news, resources, and opportunities

  • Deliver training on content aggregation and digital repository creation

  • Co-develop joint European projects that push the boundaries of digital heritage work

We believe this partnership will be a catalyst for empowering museums with the tools they need to thrive in the digital age.

What’s Next?

Stay tuned as we roll out joint activities in 2025, from training programs to collaborative projects, exciting opportunities lie ahead. MCA is proud to be building bridges across Europe’s cultural heritage landscape, and we can’t wait to share more soon!
